Refund Policy

This is the refund and returns note for Hindustan Art (hindustanart.com), an India shop for paintings and handicrafts. Amounts are in INR. Payments are via PayU. This is shop policy — not legal advice.

Damaged or wrong items

If a piece arrives damaged or is not as described, write to us within 7 days of delivery at Contact Us or via Contact Us. Include your order number and clear photographs of the issue and packaging.

We may offer repair, replacement, or a refund via the original PayU method after we review your claim. Please keep the piece and packing until we advise next steps.

Condition for returns

Where a physical return is agreed, send the piece unused, in original packaging, with any certificates or cards that came with it. If we sent the wrong piece or packing failed on our side, we cover return shipping. Otherwise the buyer pays return shipping.

Bulk / advance payments

Advance payments for wholesale or bulk orders (including payments made via our Bulk Order Advance Payment PayU link) are non-refundable once received, except if Hindustan Art cancels the order. In that case we refund the advance via the original PayU method.

Custom and handmade work

Commissioned or made-to-order pieces are not refundable once work has started, unless they arrive damaged or not as agreed. Original paintings and handmade crafts are not returnable for change of mind after dispatch, except where applicable consumer law requires otherwise.

How refunds are paid

Approved refunds go back through PayU to your original payment method. Allow several business days after approval for the amount to appear. Shipping charges are refunded only when the return is our error.

Chargebacks

Please contact us first so we can resolve issues. Unwarranted chargebacks may lead to order cancellation and account restrictions while we respond to PayU or your bank.
