Refund Policy

This is a plain-language shop policy for Hindustan Art, not legal advice. Amounts are in INR.

When you can return. You have 7 days from delivery to ask for a return if the piece arrived damaged or is not as described. Write to us through the contact form with your order number and photographs of the issue.

Condition. Send the piece back in its original packaging, unused, with any certificates or cards that came with it.

Who pays shipping. If we sent the wrong piece or it was damaged in our packing, we cover return shipping. Otherwise the buyer pays return shipping.

Custom work. Commissioned or made-to-order pieces are not refundable once work has started, unless they arrive damaged or not as agreed.

How refunds are paid. After we receive and inspect the return, we refund via the original PayU payment. Please allow 5–7 business days after inspection for the amount to show in your account. Shipping charges are refunded only when the return is our error.

Change of mind. Original paintings and handmade crafts are not returnable for change of mind once they have been dispatched, except where the law in your state requires otherwise.
